Founded in 1988, Sino-German Brewers' Academy (Hubei Brewers' School), affiliated to Hubei Light Industry Technological College, is the first vocational college in China to offer a brewing major, and a key cooperation project of the German Hans Seidel Foundation. With 13 senior-level teachers, all having studied in Germany and 13 holding international certifications such as the German Certified Brewer, the academy adopts the German dual system of vocational education. It has over 100 practical training bases and a teaching brewery, enabling students to brew German-style beer hands-on. It offers majors in brewing and electromechanical engineering, and collaborates with the Doemens Academy in Germany through a "2+1" international program, as well as with Technical University of Munich and other institutions to introduce cutting-edge international technology. Graduates are employed by renowned breweries globally, with 70% becoming industry technical leaders. Recognized as a core training base for China's beer industry, the academy partners with multinational corporations like Krones and Siemens, regularly hosts international brewing technology seminars, and translates the German journal "Brauwelt," continuously driving technological innovation in the industry.
