Founded in Tianjin in 2015, EAST GATE BREWERY’s founding team consists of 3 like-minded BJCP judges. Libin Shen, mastermind behind East Gate Brewery, also takes head judge role of various beer competitions. Starting out from their beer knowledge and brewing skills, they’ve infused in their ideology and aesthetics which best express themselves, linking them to those who are equally mesmerized by beer. East Gate has established its own pilot division and cellaring room, all set for creating local craft beer with Chinese interpretations. Qīng Mén refers to one of the gates guarding ancient city Chang’an. Locating in the east, Qīng Mén was the centre of trading and incubated several brewing facilities, well known for its prosperity. Nowadays in port city Tianjin, combining western brewing techniques with oriental ingredients, experimenting, experiencing throughout fermentation process, EAST GATE BREWERY curates pleasant drinking experience for all and for more to come.
